I started this week off right with an amazing ‘daycation’ at the Zota Beach Resort in Longboat key Florida. Did you even know this was a thing? I didn’t either, but I happened to realize that it is the best way to relax on a busy week. Kiril and I didn’t get much free time to travel this year, because we saved all of our vacation days to go to Bulgaria next week. Luckily, we happened to live where people vacation and escaping from our busy schedules for a day is not too hard to accomplish.
Longboat key is about an hour away from our house. The drive is very scenic and didn’t feel long at all. Longboat key is a cute little beach town between Anna Maria Island and St. Armands Circle, Sarasota. Bradenton Beach downtown was on the way and we stopped there for a drink on the way back in a cute little waterfront restaurant.
So, let me tell you more about Zota Beach Resort Daycation Package. It is specifically designed for locals that need a relaxing day at the beach. It costs $99 and it includes a guest room, access to the resort infinity pool and private beach, two beach chair rentals, and vallet parking from 10am to 4pm. The price is for one car and up to five people
1. The Guest Rooms – Zota Beach Resort
Our guest room was located at the ground floor, literally steps away from the beach. My favorite part was the two balconies – one looking at the pool and the other looking the beach. At first, it seemed a bit strange that we checked into a room without staying the night there. But it was really nice to have the room at our convenience to keep our belongings, as well as to shower and relax at the end of the day. Also, the room location really made it feel like were still at the beach. We were really considering staying the night there, but both Kiril and I had to work early the next morning.
2. The Food – Zota Beach Resort
The big food snobs we are, we had to try the restaurant on site! We had lunch at the Vento Kitchen and Bar restaurant. We ordered the cold strawberry soup (yes, you heard right and it was so delicious!), the crab cakes, and the grouper sandwich. Everything tasted great and the staff was very friendly.
3. The infinity pool – Zota Beach Resort
Given the fact that drinks were allowed in the pool, we ended up spending most of our time there. The waitresses were so nice to bring drinks to us in the water. We didn’t even need to get out to order. They took great care of us and made sure we always had dry towels to use!
4. The cabanas and the hammocks – Zota Beach Resort
The private cabana was such a nice spot to relax and get some air. It was for sure Kiril’s favorite spot. It included a TV, a fridge with refreshments, a safe, and a fan (which was much appreciated in the heat). The cabanas are rented for an additional cost and range between $150 and $300.
And my favorite spot – the beachfront hammocks. It was so relaxing, I could lay there for hours.
5. The private Beach – Zota Beach Resort Longboat key Florida
We didn’t get to spend much time at the beach but we definitely enjoyed the beach view from the resort. We will definitely take advantage of the beach chairs next time!
Longboat key Florida is definitely a must visit travel destination. Book your Daycation at Zota Beach Resort here. You will thank me later!
