Veuve Clicquot Carnaval is one of my favorite annual events in Miami. I was super excited I got to go this year for a second time. While last year it was a one day trip with a couple of girlfriends, this year I went with a big group of Bulgarian friends and we stayed the whole weekend. We were trying to plan a trip to Miami for probably about a year… and we finally had a good reason – Veuve Clicquot Carnaval.
I had shared my experience from the previous year with my friends and they were all excited to go. We rented a big apartment in downtown Miami and we all stayed there. Watch my video at the end of this post to see our apartment and the amazing view from the balcony! BTW if you are going to Miami, renting an apartment in downtown/Brickell is definitely the way to go. You get way more value than a hotel room for a cheaper price and you stay away from all the tourist craziness at South Beach.
Veuve Clicquot Carnaval – Champagne
To be honest, the first time I tried Veuve Clicquot was at the carnaval last year. I am more of a wine drinker, but I do enjoy a nice glass of champagne occasionally. If you ask me what my favorite champagne is right now, I would confidently say Veuve Clicquot (only if I knew how to pronounce it!) The bottle is about $50 in the stores, so it better be good, right? They only serve Veuve Clicquot champagne at the carnaval. You can get a bottle for about $100 or a cocktail for about $25-$30 (the cucumber one is my favorite!) Yes, it’s a little pricy but I think it’s totally worth the money. You only do it once a year!
Veuve Clicquot Carnaval – Fashion
My absolute favorite part of the Veuve Clicquot Carnaval in Miami is the fashion! No, it is not the drinking. The event is located in the Museum Park and is always very beautifully decorated. Everybody dresses up in nice colorful Carnaval attire. Being a fashion lover myself, I could sit there all day just to stare at people’s outfits. Last year I wore a cold shoulder floral dress (you can see it in this post) and I felt under dressed. This year, knowing what to expect, I showed up with my For Love and Lemons lace midi dress. I bought it for my friends wedding and was waiting for the appropriate event to wear it again. I dressed it down with a straw bag and shoes. My favorite accessory this year was my retro sunglasses, that everybody was obsessed with!
Check out the items I liked below if you like my outfit! The short version of my dress is still available in Blush color.
Veuve Clicquot Carnaval – Entertainment
Adriana Lima was the host of the event last year! It was so exciting to see her in person. This year, I was a little disappointed there wasn’t a special host. Every year at the Veuve Clicquot carnaval there is salsa dancing and live music. The program is for only about an hour, so make sure you don’t miss it. I like that the DJ switches up the music, so there is something for everyone. People are dancing and having a great time.
