What to bring to a picnic? Sounds like an easy question… But the worst feeling is to realize you forgot something important after you already spread out the blanket and unpacked the food. Last Sunday, my friend Moni and I decided to spend the day outside on a cute picnic date. We got so many compliments and questions after posting a few photos, so I decided to write a post and tell you everything about our experience. I included a FREE downloadable Picnic Packing List at the end of the post.
I have a picnic basket, that came fully stocked, so I didn’t have to worry about bringing most of the items. My basket and a few similar ones at different price points are linked below if you guys want to check them out!
We were planning on taking pictures at the picnic, so coordinated outfits and wore cute spring dresses. My dress is from Showpo and it comes in a couple different colors!
My jewelry is from the Kendra Scott Spring Collection
If you live in the area, come join me at the Kendra Scott Store Grand Opening at the UTC Mall in Sarasota on March 21st. There will be sips, sweets, and a gift with purchase.
What to bring to a picnic – Food
Moni and I both love cheese and wine, so the food choice was obvious. If that’s not your thing, I recommend bringing finger food. You will probably be there for a few hours and you will want something to snack on. If preparing food and packing plates sounds like too much work, just stop by your favorite restaurant on your way to the picnic and get something to go!
What to bring to a picnic – Things we Forgot
None of us thought of bringing a bug spray or sunscreen. Luckily we didn’t really need either. We were able to stay in the shade and it wasn’t a big issue. But I did get a little sunburned on my shoulders. Since we did the picnic at noon, the only bugs we had to worry about were ants trying to steal our food. If you go during summer time in the late afternoon, definitely bring bug spray against mosquitos.
